Yep and if she was fully employed by two private companies, all that would happen is she would be fired for breach of contract and possibly sued. Civil servants are seen differently, hence the criminal prosecution....

Wouldn't stay over for one day's work. If it were me I would leave at 6:00 AM to get there for 9:00 AM. Not going to be a big deal if once a fortnight....

Never been out of work, other than 5 months during Covid and been contracting since 1998. 2003 was quite bad I remember, took a rate of £192 a day and had to stay away 4 nights a week. Stayed in the cheapest digs I could find. Other people turned their nose up at that rate but it kept my bills paid...

Years ago I was told by an agent there was a blacklist which was shared with all agencies. It's a load of nonsense and purely one of the devious tactics they use to get you to tow their line. I also don't believe clients have blacklists either. Have known people go back to clients when they have left...

Not seeing any change in rates tbh. Seem normal to me. But yes there are very few contracts around and add to that an incredible amount of people on the bench, so competition is mental. Don't go on LinkedIn much nowadays but did the other day and I couldn't believe how many people are 'open to work...

Ah ok. Yes it you have done the work and you can prove it then you have a case. But they don't have to pay your notice period regardless of whether it's in the contract or not. If it were me I would send them a letter before action (you can find templates online, stating if the money is not paid within...

Don't waste your time and money. Legally you don't have a case. They can terminate you whenever they like. I have had it done several times. They are obliged to pay for days you have worked and that's it.

Agree with Northernladuk. You can't apply for JSA if you have a business. If you want to claim JSA then close down your business. You can't have it both ways. If you are struggling then look at taking a mortgage payment holiday for one thing, if you have a mortgage of course. I did this for 6 months...
