I've worked through a few umbrellas, and they seem to handle the payslip period differently. This has implications for the end of the financial year.
* DASA Umbrella said that the period matched the date on my timesheet, so the days that I worked in the week before Easter (week ending Fri...

You say "nobody", but there are some people (including some Reform voters) who are absolutely against those things. E.g. I've spoken to elderly relatives (Boomer generation) who don't view black people as being properly British, regardless of what job they do.

I'm glad you got it sorted. I think this could also be an issue for anyone who changes their name after registering the company (e.g. if they get married)....

I think there are 2 different questions:
* Does someone have a computer or smart phone?
* Can/will they use a computer or smart phone?
If you don't have one, you can still get internet access (free of charge) at your local library. However, if you're unable or unwilling to use...

Just to expand on this point, suppose that I run a farm and I need fruit pickers. I then have 2 options:
a) Hire people myself, and pay them minimum wage.
b) Get the government to send me a workforce, and pay them nothing (because they're just doing this to qualify for state benefits)....

£350/day = £1750/week (presumably to the umbrella).
Using Clarity's calculator:
Umbrella Company Take Home Pay Calculator - Clarity Umbrella Ltd
Employer National Insurance = £211.50
Apprenticeship Levy = £7.53
Umbrella margin = £25.00

I heard something similar from Rupert Lowe (Restore party) recently:

"If a healthy individual on benefits has refused work over and over, make them work. Litter picking, five days a week. Don't like it? No benefits. Cut them off from their universal...
