For tea tonight, I treated myself to an M&S Tomapork. This is a fancy name for a very large pork cutlet; they try to add to the mystique by providing rather convoluted cooking instructions, but I just whacked it in the Remoska (once I’d measured it to be sure it would fit) and it turned out fine....

It did! Everything’s back!
Though I then had to go and tell all the things that know how to use the 4G backup network that they should switch back to the proper one

Lunch has been some leftover bits and bobs
I suspect there’s something weird going on with my broadband router, as things which were quite happy on the wifi are suddenly unable to connect. I spent much of the morning going line-by-line through the rep system so I can replicate...Last edited by NickFitz; Today, 13:37.

I don’t bother following links to the Torygraph, but the Grauniad has started doing an annoying overlay about something or other. So I created this bookmarklet which lets me click a “Grauniad” button in my browser's “Favourites” toolbar and remove it:
...Code:javascript:void(document.documentElement.classList.remove("sp-message-open")%20||%20document.querySelector("[id^='sp_message_container']").parentElement.removeChild(document.querySelector("[id^='sp_message_container']")))

Morning denizens
It’s a sunny start again, and the wind has settled down a bit - though it’ll be back later. It’s currently 8°C (“feels like” 5°) and aiming for 16°, while the barometers are trivially up at 1016/1024mB
I awoke somewhat betimes today...

Tonight, I read more of I Am Legend. He’s starting to work things out, when he can manage to stop drinking for a while
I also spent a while having a dig through the source code for the forum (vB4 and vB5) to get an idea of how rep works
It’s my birthday tomorrow!...

I’ve made it to the end of the importer! Every single one of the twenty-odd steps has been checked and gone through line-by-line, and seems OK
Now I need to add some additional steps, as it doesn’t deal with a few things. It doesn’t bring in the default user titles for some...

Forgot to post this morning because I was busy working through the reputation import for the new forum! Turned out to be moderately straightforward, but it became clear that the new forum software doesn’t work the same way - it just converts rep into likes. So I’ll move on now I’ve got that working,...

Tonight’s reading was the last bit of Here, There and Everywhere. And then I started on I Am Legend by Richard Matheson, which is very good so far
Goodnight all

For tea tonight, Sainsbury’s Korean beef in a spicy honey-based sauce, with rice. Pretty nice, it turned out to be
Accompanying this, the second part of the 24 Hours in Police Custody from last week. It can’t be helpful to your case when the police ask a close relative about you...

Saturday’s burger came with some free chicken nuggets, so I had them for lunch along with a few fries and ketchup. Rather bland; I’m glad I didn’t pay for them
And the afternoon has been devoted to working out what was going wrong with the new forum import of attachments....

Monday Links from the Comfy Chair vol. DCCCLI
I’m on holiday this week. Not that I’m going anywhere
- The Sofa - Spencer Wright on buying a secondhand sofa which turned into a restoration project: ”I’m almost done restoring my old sofa, and I think it’s good, and I want to tell you about it… I saved the nails, and disassembled

Shopping has been done, at both M&S and Big Sainsbury’s!
I went past the old place on the way over, where the chestnut trees outside are just starting to show their pink candles
I should have gone back that way too, as there were roadworks with temporary lights...

Morning denizens
A clear blue sky out apart from some distant bands of cloud on the horizon, which satellite imagery suggests are actually over Cambridgeshire and south Lincolnshire. It’s 7°C but “feels like” 11°, so who knows what the expected high of 12° will feel like?...

Almost finished reading Here, There and Everywhere but I’ll leave the final chapter till tomorrow, as I want to be up at a reasonable time tomorrow
Speaking of tomorrow: it’s Monday again, but I’m not working this week!
Goodnight all
