              The snails were out in force tonight - I did my best to avoid them, but I have a feeling one or two didn't cope too well with the sudden transition to homelessness

              The simultaneous transition to flatness probably didn't help... honestly, I try to avoid them, but they really shouldn't be on the pavement at that time of night - they're very hard to see under street lighting whose power is diminished by the shadows of rhododendra and suchlike shrubs
