Mrs BI ate so well she actually lost 1½ lbs! (And I only put on 2.5 Kgs).
This was part of Mrs BI's new philosophy: since I won't take holidays during contracts, she has decided that as I approach the end of one she will just book a holiday at short notice.

I don't want to differentiate between flat and new , but get an idea of how much charge is left.
Can I construct a reliable 'battery tester'?Drivelling in TPD is not a mental health issue. We're just community blogging, that's all.

I use an Avo on the 10 amp range.
If it (an AA cell) gives 5 or 6A when you connect it briefly to the Avo, then it's new.
2 or 3A is half used.
Less than an amp is nearly dead.Comment

So the current provided goes down in a linear (or linearish) fashion, and I can use that as my measure?Drivelling in TPD is not a mental health issue. We're just community blogging, that's all.
