Hi VFOriginally posted by voodooflux View PostAfternoon NF
That's really quite scary

Indeed... apparently he's been making his wife's life hell for years too, and presumably their kids' lives too
She was a lovely lass (I knew her before she hooked up with him, also from the pub) but I haven't seen her in years - it would appear that, rather than her being happy to stay at home looking after the kids, it was more a case of him not letting her out, and knocking her about on a regular basis. Apparently this all came out at the trial
I hope she's able to get her life sorted out - though years of that kind of treatment won't be easy to get over.Comment

Indeed - I hope she's able to move on and make a fresh start. Presumably the chap was already known to the police if they had his DNA on record?Originally posted by NickFitz View PostI hope she's able to get her life sorted out - though years of that kind of treatment won't be easy to get over.Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?Comment

His DNA was found in a house he burgled in 2006 - that's how they were able to link him to the 1987 case.Originally posted by voodooflux View PostIndeed - I hope she's able to move on and make a fresh start. Presumably the chap was already known to the police if they had his DNA on record?
I would have been shocked to hear that he was a burglar, never mind anything else
