Up on the Northern coast on one of the islands (only 3 hotels there and a 30 mile drive along a causeway from the mainland to get there).
Zeity - they make such as fuss about Fidel & Che (I cannot look at those t-shirt pictures of him without thinking of Wolfie Smith), yet they backed the wrong horse in Russia. No revolution and they could have had a McDonalds on every corner hmmmm, then again, long live the revolution
Seriously, when driving to the resort, a lot of poor places about (although the "shack" style homes in Cuba did seem to be better than those in the Dominican Republic. When passing shops, they only seemed to have a set of scales, a tray of eggs and a couple of cloth sacks in stock.Comment

Aye, but then the thought of taking 4 kids on a flight to Cuba isn't an entirely pleasant oneOriginally posted by cailin maith View Post

Three and a half hours to Lapland was enough!
Definitely want to do some serious travel with the kids when they're older though - maybe it'll be easier then.Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?Comment

Flight is 9 hours.Originally posted by voodooflux View PostAye, but then the thought of taking 4 kids on a flight to Cuba isn't an entirely pleasant one
Took my 7 year old to Florida (8 hours), but made sure that she had plenty of colouring stuff, etc in her hand luggage. She also played the games on the in-flight entertainment and watchhed some TV/films.
Still a long time for young ones thoughComment

There's a lot of places MrsBear doesn't want to go to. I'm planning some serious adventure travel when Baby Bears are older - teach them a lot about the world.Si posse, recte, si non, quocumque modo remComment

Sadly, little chance of my going away in the near future
....the future Mr KW absolutely refuses to go on a plane so even if we go away we can only go somewhere in the UK.
It's Deja-vu all over again!
