I accidentally noticed there was less than 5 minutes to launch, so I found the NASA live broadcast and watched the take off.

      Morning denizens

It’s “mostly cloudy” out, meaning the occasional sliver of blue between many clouds, which are shifting along a bit as there’s a light breeze too. Just 5°C at the moment with an expected high of 10°. The barometers are down a little more at 1010/1018mB

      Thursday!

Same - I was just about to stow the laptop for the night when I saw a post on Bluesky about them being “Go for launch”

            Morning.

            Thursday according to the clock.

            Dry.

            Frosty.

            Blue sky with cirrus.

Chilly in here at 13.9 deg, 12 in the kitchen, 11 in the leanto.

1018 mBar, 30.06 in Hg, 763.6 Torr, 14.765 psi, (up from 1017 last night), 65% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 23rd of March 2020 Brillo, DaveB, LM, NF, WTFH and I popped in.

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the sunshine. After 3 miles reached the stage of removing the scarf. .

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: the radio astronomy thing. Noon o'clock news. Scam busters <click>

Upstairs duly vacced: even moved some stuff to vacc underneath.

Since I beat the filter on the garden wall last time, the vac is in full on stick to the ceiling mode again. Which ain't doing my poor old wrists a power of good: a hefty boot is needed to persuade the damn thing to move on some carpets. . But it does collect dust like a good 'un. .

Comes to something when the most fun you have in a day is propelling the vac around the house or the lawnmower around the garden.

Talk about dodging coffins: this par excellence.

            Book.

Tea: beans on toast & baked spuds. Entertainment: Science thingie. PM. <click>

And now the good news: Bondi is toast. .

            Entertainment: Book.

Sky Arts: Discovering Daniel Day Lewis.

Britain's almost perfect murders: Alfred Rouse.

Sky arts: The Directors: Discovering Robert Aldrich.

We have a plumber here today, to change the boiler out.

                Let the long weekend commence!

I had quite a productive day, but didn’t get around to having lunch because I popped down to Not-as-Big Sainsbury’s and got the shopping out of the way

And I also stripped the bed and left the mattress to air, so I must remember to remake that at some point before I want to get in it

It’s turned quite Simpsonesque here, though I think it’s a bit on the chilly side

Tea was brought to me from Popeyes. Made a nice change

Only took fourteen minutes from ordering to arrival! Not bad going, considering it’s down in the city centre

This evening’s viewing was the first half of Warship: Life on the Frontline on 5, in which a bloke spends some time on HMS Prince of Wales. It’s from last year, so slightly out of date as the big thing they’re doing is a show of force off the coast of Iran and, as you may have noticed, we’ve politely refused to get involved after Trump started his ill-advised shenanigans over there this year

Later, I finished reading Death’s End, thereby concluding the Three-Body Trilogy. It was good; I may even try watching the Netflix series, though according to the book covers that was “inspired by” rather than “based on” the books, so maybe they just took some general concepts from the books then did something else entirely

                    Goodnight all
