Oh, and a happy Autumnal Equinox to all!

      Morning all

Damp from much overnight rain. No current precipitation but there's thunderstorms due this afternoon. Currently 18 degrees with a high of 20 expected. Barometer down to 1012 mBar.

The gin and rum festival was a bit of a damp squib. I don't think the venue was very good, the signage to get there was nonexistent and signage within the venue was equally terrible.

Cocktails and dinner afterwards were much better and we had a very lovely evening.

HWMBO returns home later this afternoon but will be back again next weekend.

Thunderstorms have been cancelled. Just rain now.

          Lunch has been breakfast, i.e. a fry-up

Making a special guest appearance were M&S pork breakfast patties, which I think are a new thing. Very nice and I'll probably get them again, but I think perhaps two of them was one more than required, given that they were in addition to rather than instead of anything

Nice wander round Lewes inc. visit to priory and castle with my nephew. Not been to former, never knew it existed. All that rain and thunder in the forecasts never happened.

It stopped raining for a while, albeit with occasional spells of drizzle, but now it's raining heavily again, and a look at the lightning map shows regular strikes moving in a northwesterly direction towards Wellingborough. If they continue heading this way, they should be here in an hour or less

Lots of Monkey Life this morning, and I watched an episode of Time Team with lunch

Then some of the US borders and NZ policing stuff was on, some of which I hadn't seen before

And this evening, Saving Lives in Cardiff and 24 Hours in A&E

Later, I read some more of Burmese Days

                Goodnight all

                    Morning denizens

After what I think has been a rainy night, it's a foggy start. The fog also seems to be getting thicker, certain trees now seeming less distinct than they were a little while ago. It's keeping it relatively mild for autumn, being 16°C with an expected high of 18° - though only briefly, early in the afternoon. The barometers are down to 992/999mB, and more rain is expected soon

                      Morning all

Overcast. Damp from overnight rain. Currently 17 degrees and that's the high for the day. Barometer down to 1005 mBar.

There was lots and lots of rain early this morning, around 1 am. The guttering failed to cope and overflowed at the spot that had been checked out. There was so much rainfall that on running down the wall, it found a way to get in the top of the kitchen door. The door is recessed into the wall but that wasn't sufficient to stop the rain finding a way in.

I have been asked to rejoin the project I was on at the beginning of the year, just for two days a week. Not enough income to cover all the bills but it reduces how much of my savings is being spent.
