I searched amazon for comfy slippers.

It said "People who bought this item were also found dead in an armchair".

And very nice it was, as usual

            Very chilly night though

            Busyness status: "a rush" earlier.

Watching Jamie and Jimmy's Friday Night Feast. HWMBO was offended by Jimmy's attempt at making samosas. Jack Dee was a good chap. Now onto Amir Khan who is a good laugh.

Was it an essential trip out?

Tonight's viewing has been, inevitably, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015). Good stuff

                    Goodnight all

                      Morning.

                      Dark.

                      Grey.

                      Sunless.

Cold in here at 15.1 deg.

                      1025 mBar, 30.27 inHg, 54% RH.

                      Sunday, judging by the wireless.

                      <hiatus>

Still grey, still cold, still sunless, still cold, though in a raw sort of way.

Sunday shopping trip to Tesco & Morrisons done, dusted, sanitised, and put away.

Ah, the flavour of Domestos(tm) pervading everything, you just can't beat it.

A ridiculously large half leg of lamb currently roasted, I'll be eating it all week and half of next.

I've even turned the heating on, which is unusual in the morning.

Lunch: roast leg of lamb, a couple of yogs, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Lamb was nice enough, could have done with coming out of the oven 15 minutes sooner.

Walk walked in the eternal unvarying grey.

Rather warmer than yesterday so the ice has melted on the paths, allowing the every present mud to defrost & return to its glutinous form.

                      <hiatus>

More tinshedery potching, this time some wiring, all totally Part P compliant as may be detected by the cable colours being red & black (rather than the current blue & brown)

Tea: Heinz tomato soup with a hint of chilli with Morrisons sunflower and pumpkin seed bread, bramble jelly on crust of Morrisons wholemeal sunflower and spelt bread, a random yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: The Oak Island nutjobs at 21:00 on Blaze, 2 hours worth again, though if the 2nd hour involves the Wig Wearing War Criminal's avatar in any way it'll get ignored.

Other than that: feck nose, can't see anything inneresting in the TV times.

And thusly did it prove, nothing of any innerest before the nutjobbery on Oak Island.

Coming up: they find some bone, Gary finds a ring.

                      There's more wood.

                      The excitement is palpable.

The 8 foot diameter can is in place and much wood is being excavated therefrom.

It's taking longer because they're digging through the remains of the Heddon shaft from earlier last century.

It's bringing up a lot of very wet wood.

Meanwhile Gary is in the swamp.

And he finds: a tin can lid.

                      Followed by The Ring.

Other than wood, they just found some bone ?human?.

And part of the digging shield from the previous shaft of the 1930s.

Gary's talking to some talking head or other about the ring.

                      It's been repaired twice.

The floral design is handmade & the ring has been chiseled out.

Pre 1730. Possible Spanish silver ring.

Next day, the grab brings up parts of a little wooden barrel.

Then it brings up some chunky bits of wood.

And that appears to be that.

                      They've hit bedrock.

Shaft OC1 is dry (of anything inneresting) whilst being full of water, wood, and crap.

Now they're off to Dan Blankenship's office to look at the papers he left.

                      They find a map.

Which tells them where to dig next.

Next week: more wood, more bits of iron, more crap, no gold.

Following that, an attempt was made to watch "The Night Manager", which attempt was, however, unsuccessful.
