I'm hoping it just needs a strip down, clean up and rebuild with some fresh grease and proper tightening of the bearing cups. The bike is almost 30 years old but seems to have had a relatively easy life. No rust, all the chrome is still shiney with no pitting, and once I cleaned up the freewheel it ran lovely and smooth.
