Being mushrooms, kept in the dark & fed on bulltulip, we've not been told anything officially yet.

Can't start until the summer anyway, since the other lot need to move out before we can move in.

I think early retirement is beckoning.

Rubens at the Palace, Crown Plaza, Jolly Saint Ermins or the Hilton Westminster. which one close to the clients office am I going to get into at short notice and at a reasonable price.

Too late, Either the hotels are booked solid or prices have attained rediculous heights due to shortages.

They are in enough tulipe already given they told us the builders were turning up on Monday and this was friday at 5pm!!!! Not sure what landlords rights are in cloggers.

both of us are benched atm, so not too much hassle ( apart from the noise and people traipsing though the house) , if we were working there would have been no chance of arranging to work from home at such short notice.

We've just had to make an appointment to have our electricity meter replaced. "Some time between 12 and 5pm on Wednesday".

Tried to explain that I work from home and need to be working on my computer during the day, and they offered 9-12 instead. Asked for a weekend - no, we don't do that. Asked for an evening - no, we don't do that.

Said I'd not get it done, and they said "legally, you have to. If you don't make an appointment, we'll make one for you". Can't wait until they come and I'm not answering the door because I'm working up here.....

Its an issue. But I do like those new smart metres. One less person to knock on the door. WE already have a sign up "no callers without appointment". will make the baliffs easier to spot.
