Sheppey is a beautiful little island situated just off the North Kent coast, approximately 250 miles south-east of the lake district. This web site (http://www.sheppeyscum.com/ ed. ds23) has been established to publicise the myriad charms and multifaceted personas of the delightful people who make up its population.

Some aspects of this site may offend the weak minded, especially the weak minded amongst the Sheppey natives, which is just about all of them. If you are squeamish or easily upset then we suggest you choose not to enter this site. You should probably go **** yourself instead.

The name 'November' is believed to derive from 'novem' which is the Latin for the number 'nine'. In the ancient Roman calendar November was the ninth month after March. As part of the seasonal calendar November is the time of the 'Snow Moon' according to Pagan beliefs and the period described as the 'Moon of the Falling Leaves' by Black Elk (Black Elk Speaks, Neihardt). November has also been known as:
'Slaght-maand' (Slaughter month, of beasts ready for winter)
        Old Dutch

'Wind-monath' (Wind month, fisherman brought boats ashore)
        'Blot-monath' (Wind month)
        Old Saxon

Unabridged Provides Narrated Digital Audio Books

Libraries for the blind and physically handicapped in nine states have teamed up to undertake Unabridged, a downloadable digital audio book service. The National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (a Division of the Library of Congress) also is an Unabridged partner, using the service for in-house testing and evaluation.

                William Cardinal Allen
                From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
                Jump to: navigation, search

William Cardinal AllenWilliam Allen (1532 – October 16, 1594) was an English Catholic priest and cardinal.

Allen was born in 1532 at Rossall, Fleetwood, Lancashire, England. He was the third son of John Allen. In 1547, at the age of fifteen, he entered Oriel College, Oxford, graduated with B.A. in 1550, and was elected Fellow of the College. In 1554 he proceeded M.A., and two years later in 1556 was chosen to become principal of St Mary Hall and proctor. He seems also to have held briefly to a canonry at York in or about 1558, in which case he would have to have already been tonsured, a sign that he had already determined to embrace the ecclesiastical state. On the accession of Elizabeth I, and the re-establishment of Protestantism, he refused the oath of supremacy and was disciplined, but remained in the University until 1561.

                    What are extenuating circumstances?
Extenuating circumstances are circumstances that could not reasonably be foreseen and that either prevent you from attending an examination, or submitting part or all of your coursework by the due deadline. They also include circumstances which prevent you from demonstrating or achieving your full potential in the examination or coursework in question. Extenuating circumstances are normally health-related, or of a sensitive/personal nature, or relate to some unforeseen emergency or crisis affecting your situation (for example a family bereavement).
