    Morning denizens

It’s a gloomy, grey, drizzly start to the day and likely to continue in much the same vein, though the rain might stop by mid-afternoon. Fairly mild though: 15°C with an expected high of 20°, and the barometers much the same at 1006/1015mB

      Morning all

Cloudy but bright. A few spits of rain occurring . Currently 17 degrees with a high of 20 expected. There may be more rain off and on. Barometer down to 1020 mBar.

HWMBO goes home later today. Ocado will be delivering an eclectic mix of gin, tonic, crisps and paracetamol because I forgot to edit the order before the cut off time.

Tea has been shepherd’s pie out of the freezer

To go with it, a bit of the fare dodgers programme. Apparently Nottingham University students get caught on the trams a lot

At last - managed to find the error in my accounts, only £27 discrepancy in balance sheet now, think I can ignore that. Don't think HMRC will pursue me for a a £5.32 underpayment of CT.

I continued reading Pixie tonight, in which PCS and her father have travelled back to England, which her family had left when she was 10, spending time in New York and Jamaica. This detail is at variance with the account of her life in Wikipedia, according to which she returned after her father died, but there wasn’t a decent biography of her until quite recently so maybe it’s Wikipedia that’s wrong. And anyway, it’s a novel based on her life, not a history. I got to the point where she’s just about to be introduced to Bram Stoker, who helped her in establishing her career and also introduced her to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, ultimately leading to her work on the Tarot

I also got a bit distracted by eBay and have bought more fonts of type, being several sizes of both Rockwell Shadow and Imprint Shadow, both of which are faces I’ve always had a fondness for. I wouldn’t mind some Gill Sans Shadow as well, but that’s harder to find in the larger sizes I’d prefer

                  Thursday tomorrow!

                  Goodnight all

                    Morning.

                    Thursday.

                    Damp.

                    Grey.
                    Sunless.

                    Dreary.

                    Grass looking greener still.

20.5 deg in here, 21.2 deg in the kitchen, 19.5 in the leanto, 18 out the back.

1010 mBar, 29.83 in Hg, 757.6 Torr, 14.65 psi, (unchanged), 71% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 3rd of April 2020, between 16:23 and 17:30, in popped AndyGarbs, Brillo, LM, NF, openstrike, and vetran, with AG going for the Millennium.

Jack Hargreaves Old Country: Appleby Horse Fair (), some post WWI land used for farming by post WWI soldiers recovering from the war, and a downland hill fort used by General Wolfe to prepare for Quebec.

Walk (abbreviated, 3 miles) walked with the legs complaining that I hadn't done it yesterday.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: Dashcam bollox: S1 E1 again, despite having had 1, 2, & 3 so far & 5 tomorrow.

Carted all the tv & radio fixit sheets and manuals downstairs ready for a chap to collect tomorrow. If he doesn't turn up I'l have to cart them all back upstairs again.

Feck me, there's a lot & they weigh knocking on for a cwt, which is not to be sniffed at.

Some were collected by me from stuff my dad brought hope, the rest came from a filing cabinet in Ye Olde Sloughe of Desponde back in 2005 when I was moving the lab for the first time.

I'm still baffled by the peripatetic lab thing, having moved the feckers 3 times.

The most knackering thing of all was getting a 19" rack too tall for the lift from the ground floor to the top floor. It was fecking heavy even without the sides, doors etc.

Entertainment: Am Dro. Penarth, Ferndale, Denbigh, Furnace (not Llanelli).

Jack Hargreaves Old Country: probably give this a miss since I'm not much innerested in watching, er, travellers horse washing & trading, interspersed with trotting up & down some road the plod had closed for the duration. The other bit about General Wolfe and Quebec was ok. It may have taken place at Hambledon Hill, Dorset. Watched the Gy, er, traveller free bit about Hambledon Hill and General Wolfe.

Tea: beans on toast. Nice enough. Entertainment: PM <click> Blazian UFO bollox.

                    Bab5 S3 E19 "Grey 17 is missing".

Thing on S4C Yng Nghymraeg about Stalag Luft III.

Light drizzle earlier on our walk, but the sun is out now.
Max has not accepted that 05:30 is too early to go out for a walk. I will be having words with him later.
