      Finished The Martian

Monday again tomorrow, but no work!

Still, I suppose I'd better get to sleep so I can make the most of my copious free time

      Goodnight all

Morning. Awake at 03:15. Sleep has not returned despite reading pages & pages of the turgid tome about Tesla.

        Got up at 05:00 ish.

        Monday apparently.

        Was dark, now grey.

        Damp.

        Dreary.

        Sunless.

Cool in here at 21.1 deg, 22 in the kitchen, 20 in the leanto.

1009 mBar, 29.79 in Hg, 756.8 Torr, 14.63 psi, (down from 1012 last night), 71% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 5th of February 2020 there was an RTA outside NF's old gaff, though the gore was hidden by next door's hedge or bush or something, ambulances, the plod, and a taxi for good measure, Brillo popped in, LM was looking for buttermilk, xogg reckoned the yoof were doing strange things with it, and I discovered what yumyums were, not that I've encountered such things.

Spent about 4 hours dozing in the chair. Despite it being 21 deg I had a blanket to keep warm.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: thing about autism & its diagnosis on R4 at 11:45.

        Y&Y <click>.

Some impressively horizontal rain out there. With the trees being in full leaf I expect some tree drops today.

R4 thing at 13:45 about drugs of hallucination. .

The bits of the kitchen floor I didn't clean whilst deicing the fridge have now seen the vac. During which I found something blocking one of the tubes so it's a bit more efficient now, and the accumulated crap is awaiting the next fire of the bones, whenever that happens.

Spent a little time watching a pied wagtail and its chick on the garden path. I don't think I've ever seen that before. Also observed was a cat, but it was at the bottom of the garden whilst the wagtails were halfway up.

        Sun's out. .

Minor potch in the garage: where's the water coming in? Followed by picking more blackberries.

Tea: Mr Brains faggots with peas etc.

Entertainment: Ukraine thing on R4. PM. <click> Some of these interviews are interminable.

        Still sunny. .

        Human. 4 of 5.

Foyle's War S6 E1. Back after cancellation by some scrote in a suit, said scrote being himself cancelled in turn. The perfidy of sending POWs back to be executed by assorted communists with Uncle Joe leading the charge. Makes one proud to be British.

          Morning all
          Overcast, humid and still air.

Having struggled to get to sleep, I then struggled to drag myself out of bed.
Only managed 7,000 steps on our walk.

On the bright side, £200 interest from the PBs
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

            Morning all

Cloudy. Currently 19 degrees ('feels like' 25) with a high of 22 expected. Risk of showers increasing as the day progresses. Barometer at 1016 mBar.

            Sunrise 05:30; Sunset 20:44 BST

Uneventful journey home yesterday. My car was where I'd left it at Hatton Cross tube station car park. The exhaust is making a racket so I need to call the garage in a minute and find out when they can take a look at it.

              Morning denizens

It's a grey day with intermittent drizzle and also quite breezy, all tokens of the storm currently bothering regions much farther north. Still mild though, being 18°C already and reaching 21° for much of the afternoon. The barometers are down, as one would expect, though not that much - just to 1001/1008mB

I too have been blessed by the Premium Bonds, in the sum of £25. I preferred the thousand quid they gave me the other month, but it's better than nothing

Lunch: leftover corned beef hash, quickly refried. Very nice

Getting windier here, though the rain seems to be holding off for now

Breezy here. I keep thinking it's going to rain but it's remained reasonably bright, despite the cloud cover.

Tea has been chicken in red wine sauce with small, spicy roast potatoes and peas. Turned out really nice

Speaking of turning out nice, we had an extremely rainy period of an hour or two this afternoon, after which it suddenly cleared up and has been sunny and Simpsonesque ever since

                      Still breezy though
