    Afternoon all

Cloudy but dry. Currently 20 degrees ('feels like' 25) and that's the high for the day. An ever present risk of rain persists. Barometer up to 1017 mBar

    Sunrise 05:14; Sunset 21:01 BST

Was awake most of the night, mostly from around 3.30 am, no idea why. As a result I feel like poop today with a very harsh headache. Made my excuses to both clients and stayed in bed.

Mahjong thing with old farts this morning. Cheered me up. I won again, which proves it is just about luck as I still ain't got me head round it.

Lunch has been a roast beef bap (wholemeal) and a bag of plain crisps

As might be expected, the rest of the morning after completing the service migration has been very peaceful. A few congratulations to those of us still left on Slack and Teams, as might also be expected at the conclusion of a long-running project that's involved every single online service in the department

Life goal achieved: I've been retweeted on Bluesky by SwiftOnSecurity!

There go my mentions for the next 48 hours or so

Right, early start, so early finish! I'm knocking off for the weekend

This ignores the fact that I've done absolutely nothing all afternoon anyway, except for the fortnightly developer meet-up which doesn't really count as work

I've decided there's no need to go shopping this week, so I won't. Next week is Viz week so I'll be going to Big Sainsbury's, and it's also the start of my break, so I'll use up stuff in the freezer and make room for restocking

I see from the CUK newsletter that some new outfit has taken over!

I also find, having just tried, that I no longer have admin access

Somebody could have told me! Oh well, if it breaks (more than usual), maybe they'll track me down

The annoying thing is that I was just about to propose sorting out the vBulletin nonsense once and for all by moving the site to Xenforo! This was created by the competent vBulletin developers that were laid off, which is what caused this version to be so bad, and it's great because it works properly! I'd been scoping out the data migration, styling, and so on, and was going to suggest I get started during my August break. But now I don't know who to propose it to!

Should have done it years ago really, but vBulletin sued them and the case dragged on until last year, at which point vBulletin threw in the towel. So now there's no risk of Xenforo being shut down by the US courts, I'd done some research into what would be involved and was ready to go for it
