Not a lot going on at the moment. The project is at a stage where we just deal with any problems people on the other team encounter and if they don't find any, there's nothing to do. And most of our team are busy migrating another service this morning, so I'm just sitting at my desk in case anybody says anything on Teams or Slack that I'm supposed to reply to

Clear sky, no fluff from my vantage point. Currently 24 degrees with a high of ... 31!!! . Barometer at 1025 mBar.

Today I need to walk round to Sainsbury's and pick up milk and stock up on Fever Tree tonic ahead of HWMBO arriving this evening. This week, it's them who has it on the best offer.

HWMBO will be staying until Sunday, when he toddles off to Wyboston to indoctrinate some more unwitting souls. There seems to be quite the demand for Archimate and TOGAF training, with his order book nicely filling up over the summer.

Here, on the other hand, it seems that the Swiss client is petering out as the European launch of their wonder drug is being delayed. Barely scraping 10h a week on that one; mostly just logging in, checking if there's anything to do, and logging out again after loitering for a while.

I've decided to see what happens to my white plimsols if I put them in the WM. They're a bit grubby and the WM has a 'sports shoes' setting. In removing the insoles, I discovered that they're very firmly stuck in and had to be careful not to tear them. I put the laces in a little bag I use for delicate smalls so they get a refresh too.

After that's done, I'll do a bedding wash.

I've got an appointment for a checkup at the dentist on Friday morning. I had thought that as I'd be on the right side of town, I'd pop down to Big Sainsbury's afterwards, beating the lunchtime crowds. But the optician's phoned earlier to say my new reading glasses are ready, so I've got to go and collect them afterwards instead, and that would result in being at Sainsbury's bang on lunchtime. So now I'm thinking I may do the shopping tomorrow evening, leaving Friday for mouth and eyes

I could go early and do the shopping first. But it's going to be hot, and that would result in stuff sitting baking in the boot of the car for over an hour, so that's probably not a good idea

The conundrum has been resolved: the dentist's just phoned to cancel and rearrange for next Wednesday

I'd chosen Friday when making the appointment six months ago, because it's my non-working day. But now it looks like I'll just have to invoice through it

Anyway, this means I can go and do the shopping first. When going to the opticians, I'll be able to park in the shade of big old Victorian houses and mature trees at that time of day, so the shopping should survive relatively unscathed
