    Afternoon denizens

There was rain overnight but it was sunny for a while earlier, which has dried things up. Back to cloudy now though, with more rain due this evening and a bit of a breeze making the trees shimmy. It's mild enough, being 19°C and making it all the way to 20° soon. The barometers are plummeting, down to 998/1006mB

It's mostly just the bloke saying "But there's a problem!" anyway

Tea has been brought to me from KFC

More accurately, it was brought to somewhere near me, as the bloke for some reason went to the next road over then phoned me, and struggled to understand what I was getting at when I told him he was on the wrong road. So I ended up starting to walk round the block, though he'd finally got the idea by then and we ended up meeting halfway

Then when I finally got the food off him and got home with it, I found the shop had missed off some of the order

The usual wildlife stuff graced the screen today, including Monkey Life

It'll be the end of this series next week though, so I don't know what'll happen after that. Wouldn't be too surprised if they start again at the very beginning

This evening, I started reading Eagle Days: Life and Death for the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain by Victoria Taylor, which was published on Thursday

Earlier, assorted things came from Amazon including a powerful magnet on a telescopic stick. I tried poking it at the top of the window and it didn't seem tempted to stick anywhere, so it may just be concrete rather than an RSJ up there. I'll give the rotary hammer drill that also arrived a go tomorrow and see. And if that doesn't work, there are also short screws and glue as the last resort

There's been some light rain this evening, and it's very windy now too

            Goodnight all

Having acquired a new camera, I decided to download the user guide for it. It’s 1098 pages long in English, and 2 pages of it are QR codes to other manuals that should be read.
              Better start reading.

Expecting the Great Tits to fledge today, so said camera is all set up and ready to go, I think.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

                Morning all

Cloudy but dry. Currently 16 degrees with a high of 18 expected. Showers forecast but should be overall a brighter day. Barometer down to 1007 mBar.

                Sunrise 04:56; Subset 21:01 BST

The Phoenician Scheme was exactly what I expected and, although HWMBO and I didn't discuss it much afterwards, we both enjoyed it. We had dinner in a Vietnamese restaurant afterwards followed by the latest episodes of The Piano and Trucking Hell (with another flash back segment, this time to 2022) once we got home

Off to see Mum today. Leaving earlier than normal to drop HWMBO off at T4 on the way for his next trip to Amsterdam (Den Bosche, technically)..

Looking forward to seeing how yea olde jalopy drives after its repairs.

                  Morning.

                  Sunday.

                  Damply dry.

                  Sunny.

                  Blue sky in parts.

Cool in here at 18.7 deg, 20 in the kitchen, 17.5 in the leanto.

1005.5 mBar, in Hg, Torr, psi, (up from 1003 last night), 67% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 18th of January 2020 NF changed the time of the visit to the Chinese due to a visit to a pub later on, whilst I discovered that one of the Pink Panther dvds was missing from the box set: "The Pink Panther Strikes Again".

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Walk (abbreviated) walked in the sunshine & cool breeze/semigale. It didn't rain on me because I took a brolly.

                  Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: whatever is on after Ambridge ends. I discovered the other day that the actress who voiced Grace Archer (the character who died the day ITV opened) appeared quite frequently as a voice actor in Doctor Who. Well there's a thing.

xogg just posted on the book thread. About his LL. . Ooops.

More potching in the garage after my day off yesterday. The patch duly screwed to the bottom of the tool box in addition to the glue that's already there.

Now getting outside a mug of mediocre coffee. Nicely consistent. Which is all I ask. .

Gosh. Strangelove Pater seems to have "acquired" rather a lot of tin sheets from Metal Box (at a guess, since he worked there). About 0.1% of it will Come In Handy as edging for the toolboxes.

Tea: beans on toast etc. Nice enough.

Entertainment: the fecking poetry crap is back. Ho hum.

                  18 o'clock news.

                  Thing about FDR on PBS.

Two simultaneous eps of The Repair Shoppe on Quest & Quest+1.

Lots of clouds about, but also a good few gaps. As it's also very blustery, which is moving said clouds along at a rate of knots, it's alternating between sunny and not sunny every few minutes. It's mild at 14°C, but the wind is making it "feel like" 9°; the expected high is 17° this afternoon, and the barometers are down a touch to 995/1002mB

Looking at the GP's website, I see that my full blood count test results are already back, with the designation "Abnormal, but expected"

It appears this is medical code for there being one measurement out of a dozen or so that is outside the reference range by a tiny amount. So they won't bother doing anything about it, because it's (probably) not worth bothering about
