Over lunch, I sorted out something I'd been trying to fix on the Swift app since Friday! Then I thought "Next, I want to add that reusable component I made months ago" so I've just gone through the steps to add it, assuming it would all fail to work and I'd be going round in circles with that for ages… and it Just Worked!

In other news, the property management people have emailed to say they now have a web portal so I can see my management charge bills on there, which is fun

And the monumental masons have reinstalled the stone at the grave in Liverpool with our parents' names added and sent us a photograph. It looks good; I'll go back up there some time to have a look for myself

In fact, I'll spend two or three days up there. I don't think any of us have visited our paternal grandparents' grave up in Waterloo for a long time, and I certainly haven't been there since my grandmother's funeral in the early 1980s, so that deserves a visit. And there are a few museums and the like I want to go to, such as the Western Approaches. And I suppose there'll be a bit of a nostalgia kick in going to see our old house, my old school, and that kind of thing. Might even pop into Woolton churchyard to see Eleanor Rigby's grave, as that's bang in the middle of our old stamping grounds

Tea has been pork chow mein

This was accompanied by the penultimate episode of the aircraft carrier thing in which, among other activities, they crossed the equator. This led to an outbreak of all kinds of peculiar Royal Navy traditions, largely involving mass rucks and the like

I wasn't as close to the end of Porno as I thought but there's only 101 pages left now, so I should be finished soon

Wednesday tomorrow, and I have a load of meetings. But a bunch of people are in London for an actual meeting about the future direction of the project, which I don't care about, so with luck some of them will be quite short or even cancelled due to those people not being available

          Goodnight all

            Morning denizens

Cloudy out, but with lots of thin patches meaning it's quite bright at times. It's 12°C now and likely to clear up at least a bit later on, giving us a goal for the day of 19°. The barometers are shuffling downwards again at 1005/1013mB

              Morning all

Raining. Dull. Currently 13 degrees with a high of 17 expected. Rain set for the day, off and on. Barometer down to 1016 mBar.

Yea olde jalopy has been dropped off at the garage. Now on the 207 bus home. I just missed the SL8, which would have been quicker, due to waiting to cross the road.

Leading old fart group walk later. Grumble.

Another interesting little letter found in one of the old horror anthologies I got on Freeycle with paragraph: "I am so very pleased you have discarded the jacket. This is a great step forward and from now onwards you will make good lasting progress." A cursed jacket??

                  ^^^ Probably a strait jacket, xogg. .

                  Morning.

                  Wednesday.

                  Damp.

                  Grey.

                  Sunless.

Cool in here at 18.5 deg, 19.5 in the kitchen, 17.5 in the leanto.

1014 mBar, 29.9434 in Hg, 760.56 Torr, 14.7 psi, (down from 1015 last night), 67% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 17th of January 2020 I was watching Jimmy Stewart flying a B47 in "Strategic Air Command" whilst also listening to Fleetwood Mac, LM was in T5 going somewhere, NF popped in, BR14 popped in, Brillo popped in, WTFH never listened to "Rumours" .

Walk (abbreviated) walked in the sunshine, however warm it really wasn't, despite those in t shirts & shorts.

                  Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about stuff. <click>

FB marketplace revealed a 1957 Rover 60 for sale over in Clydach. It's only £1k, but looking at the condition it's in, I think I'll pass.

More potching in the garage: the patch for the bottom of the grandfather's toolbox is coming along, might be done in another couple of days. .

Some more "useless gardening" done: feck me those brambles grow quickly and the dead self planted rose in the front garden was fighting back with thorns upon thorns. Another bag of crap met the greenhouse to dry out.

Now outside a mediocre cup of coffee.

Strewth that gardening really takes it out of one. Got very hot due to the unseasonal sunshine. Phew wot a scorcher.

And something was fighting back judging by the scratches on my wrists. Duly dosed with alcohol and TCP to avoid any unfortunate developments.

Bit more potching on the toolbox. Filled more holes with that plastic woodfiller crap: used a bit more hardner this time to make sure it went off completely.

Tea: chicken in white sauce with rice n peas: took some doing getting it down this time.

Entertainment: PM <click> FB conversation with my dear niece who's full of beans as ever. Very different from her brother. I reckon they must have had a ginger milkman. .

                  Maigret.
