Lunch: chicken, tomato, and lentil soup with a crust of wholemeal

It's been a bit Simpsonesque out, but seems to be clouding over more - maybe temporarily, maybe not

Tea has been shepherd's pie. It was pretty nice, but not as good as I'd hoped. I suspect the Provençal herbs I used to flavour it are past their best. Still, it was pretty nice despite that

This was accompanied by yet another new episode of Traffic Cops. This series is up to E30 now. Will they stop there? Who can say!

This evening's ents has comprised The Day of the Jackal (S1 E4 and E5), Would I Lie to You (S18 E1 and E2), and Surgeons: At the Edge of Life (S7 E1).

Read some more of Bad Call, some of them very bad indeed for the people involved

Just realised, I'm halfway through the working week!

                Goodnight all

                  Morning denizens

Cloudy start out, with the gaps that might let a bit of sunshine through backed by more distant cloud. Not so warm either: 2°C, maybe reaching 6° by lunchtime. The barometers are heading down again at 992/1000mB

                    Morning all
Slight mis-reading of the time this morning led to use heading out 20 minutes earlier than usual and it was 1C out. Still 1C now, but at least I've done 9,300 steps.

                      Morning.

                      Wednesday.

                      Damp.

                      Wanly sunny.

Chilly in here at 13.6 deg, 12.5 in the kitchen, 10 in the leanto, 4.5 in the saltinghouse.

1002 mBar, 29.589 in Hg, 751.56 Torr, 14.53 psi, (down from 1005 last night), 54% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 31st of December 2019 LM recalled sending up a rocket when she lived in Sussex and had a garden, whereas NF noted that where he lived there were yards rather than gardens & the rockets went up just the same, whilst I made no mention of rockets but listed a couple of actors who'd just appeared in Joan of Arcadia before they appeared in Breaking Bad. Oh, and atw popped in to request the closing of the thread. Happy New Year. .

Washing frenzy ongoing: all out on the line.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine & lazy cold wind.

                      Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about stuff.

                      Asbestos thing at 13:45. Bastards.

Everything in off the line: the cottons and shirts requiring the iRon duly iRoned & everything upstairs airing.

Dried quite well today, could have left stuff out longer but there was a big threatening looking cloud so it all came back in.

                      Burned my finger.

Entertainment: The Infinite Monkey Cage: Magic: not tremendously interesting.

The Infinite Monkey Cage: Asteroids: much better.

Bit of undercoat on the bits of the tin shed that were primed yesterday.

                      Really cold out there now.

Freecell score: 83%, running average: 82%.

                      Tea: soup etc.

Entertainment: PM. More crap from the Orange Moron.

Ancient Aliens <click> The Ghost & Mrs Muir <click> Morse. <click> More aliens bollox <click>

Feck it, nothing on before Maigret at 21:00.

Maigret and the elusive witness: the one where the choirboy finds a stiff on the way to church at 06:00.
