    Morning all
Windy overnight, but the forecast of frost was wrong. We had clear skies, but it was a balmy 3C at 6.30am. Sun rise as 7.52 as we were almost home from our walk.
As if the day couldn't get better (I mean, while within the realms of doing work), one of the most pointless meetings I need to attend has been cancelled.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

      Morning.

      Thursday apparently.

      Sunny.

      Blue sky.

      Frosty.

Chilly in here at 11.1 deg, 8.5 in the kitchen, 7 in the leanto.

1019 mBar, 30.09 in Hg, 764.3 Torr, 14.779 psi, (up from 1010 last night), 62% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 23rd/24th of December 2019 I was watching "The Dresden Files" which failed to live up to rose tinted memory whereas NF was Spiralling still, the weather was cold, wet, and nasty, and Brillo's DD had gone off to see her mum for Xmas, whereas xogg was panicking about supplies for Xmas, and NF mentioned the sad bastards forming the queue outside some tat shop in Leicester as shown in the local rag.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the bright sunshine. Big tree in the process of being chopped down in the park. .

      Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: The Shadow War. Chinese electric cars & the PLA sucking up Western DNA data, no doubt in order to feed to Wuhan. . You don't have to be paranoid, the bastards really are out to get you.

Freecell score: 87%, running average: 81%. Well it was slightly better than yesterday's attempt.

Tea: beans on toast etc. Nice enough.

Entertainment: PM, including the Orange Moron, suddenly expert on the subject of air traffic control, especially by the Democrat selected one legged blind & deaf controllers.

Some UFO bollox on Blaze: <click>

If there's anything else on this evening, I ain't found it.

Discovering Julianne Moor on Sky Arts.

Oddly TalkingPicturesTV was still odd: poked a setup menu in the freesat box & it returned to normal. If I'd done that yesterday Mr Cremer's Maigret wouldn't have been so tall.

UFO bollox on blaze. Die Glocke: so inneresting I fell asleep 20 minutes in. The bollox in the following programme was so great it rapidly went <click>: mildly inneresting bit about an iron knife in King Tut's tomb that they managed to suggest was brought by, you guessed it: s or s or s.

We finished our daily standup at 10. Sighing heavily, I messaged "my" team suggesting we convene at 10:30 to get started again - I had thought of 10:15, but decided we could all do with the extra time to prepare mentally

Turns out two of them have other meetings at 10:30! So we're starting at 11 instead. Epic win!

          Afternoon all

Sunny with a clear blue sky. Currently 7 degrees ('feels like' 5) with a high of 8 expected. Looks like it'll rain overnight and in the wee hours tomorrow morning. Barometer down up to 1021 mBar.

          Sunrise 07:42; Sunset 16:48

Woke up with a headache which hasn't gone away yet.

Just about logged on to work PC in time for a 9am meeting that I thought was going to start at 9.30 This then generated a requirement to read and sort through multiple people's edits on a technical document that I've only just finished. My endeavours were not helped by the PM trying to fix Word's inability to properly auto number section headings, so much time was wasted on me asking them to leave damn well alone and I'll fix that mess when I'm done with the technical rewrite. No wonder my headache is still hanging about.

This task was not on the to-do list of things I've avoided doing all week. This means this afternoon (which has too many meetings in it) will be even busier.

Tea earlier was pork cutlet with chips and beans

And TV viewing was Murder Case from BBC Scotland, being the first part of a two-parter about the trial of a bunch of wretches accused of murdering one of their friends, a teenage girl, in the 1990s

Later, I've read some more of Stories of Your Life and Others. Only three stories left, none of them longer than forty pages or so

Early night now, with no alarms set so I can have a proper sleep until I awake naturally. The lift was still working as of a couple of hours ago, so maybe I can finally get the stuff I was going to move after Christmas out of here tomorrow

                Goodnight all

                  TFIF, etc.
Very pleasant walk earlier, 7.5C, clearing skies, nice sunrise, although the ground was wet from the rain overnight.

                    Morning denizens

Gloomy, grey, damp day after a very rainy night

The relative mildness continues, it being 5°C already and reaching 7° later. The barometers have cautiously crept up a bit further to 1009/1016mB

                    Friday!

                      Morning.

                      Friday.

                      Sunny.

                      Blue sky in parts.

Wetly dry or drily wet due to the deluge overnight which I thought I'd dreamed but did happen.

Chilly in here at 12.5 deg, 10.5 in the kitchen, 9 in the leanto.

1020.5 mBar, 30.1353 in Hg, 765.44 Torr, 14.8 psi, (up from 1019.5 last night), 61% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 24th of December 2019 LM was feeling a bit despite being well enough to watch the new Starwars epic, however this didn't prevent WFH & invoicing Like A Proper Contractor, NF couldn't decide on lunch, I had beans on toast, and xogg was debating what setting of the WM to use for washing raspberries, was it 40 deg or would 60 deg be safer.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine.

Odd dream before waking involved a Rover 110 P4 I'd just bought which turned out to have a steering lock, something no P4 ever experienced. My Dad was in the dream too, and there was some sort of nightclub next to our garage. Still trying to figure that one out, though I have dreamed of a massive garage I've built instead of the one that's there. Never going to happen of course.

Lunch: brunch. I bought more Weetabix, which seem to smell & taste rather different from the BBE 2014 versions. .

Freecell score: 90%, running average: 81%.

                      Tea: soup etc.

                      Entertainment: PM.

"Jigsaw (1962)" with that Jack Warner, John le Mesurier, etc. Rather good.

"Strange but true". WWII spooks and Poltergeists in Hellfire Corner, Dover Castle.

"Doomwatch (1970)" Project Sahara. Stone me Robert Powell looks young. Then again, it was 55 years ago (probly 56), and rather before he was Jesus.

Some more unutterable bollox on Blaze, the channel that never lets you down on the bollox front.
