Was watching Bullet Train earlier, briefly interrupted when I remembered I needed to check The Wife in for her return flight from “work”. Check-in opened at 21:20, although she had told me 21:25. Thankfully I had fired the computer up early.
Got the second eating apple tree trimmed this morning, and did a bit more work on the big bramley tree, before my shoulder gave up.
And this evening, the latest episode of 24 Hours in Police Custody. The ten years handed down to the hapless idiot seemed very harsh for what little he did
Various bits of mucking around with SpriteKit and GameplayKit came to not a lot, as I seem to have run up against my relative unfamiliarity with the way Swift handles object references in closures. Ah well, I'll work it out eventually
This evening I started reading Dangerous Visions, a 1960s sci-fi anthology put together by Harlan Ellison and recently republished through the efforts of J. Michael Straczynski. I read a few stories, but TBH they mainly served to remind me why I'm not that keen on sci-fi of that era. So I ended up reading a bit more of Helen Fry's history of MI9 instead
Cloudy out, but it looks like there are gaps opening, or soon to open, on the horizon. Not a warm week ahead though, starting at 0°C and only reaching a high of 4° for a short while this afternoon. The barometers are down some more at 1005/1014mB
Another week begins. I just checked and due to the vagaries of the Lunar Calendar, the next Bank Holiday is still three months away
Overcast and windy. Currently 19 degrees with a high of 22 expected. Thunderstorms forecast over lunch time, just when we're due to leave. Barometer down to 1014 mBar.
Sunrise 08:08; Sunset 18:29
We have had a lovely week away and I'm not looking forward to being back at work tomorrow.
Time to request "One of these days" and "Be careful with that axe Eugene" then..
I should have! I'm not very familiar with The Division Bell but do enjoy their earlier stuff. Arnold Lane, Bike are much more fun than the overly self important post-Wall later stuff.
EDIT: not immediately post Wall, more the like the 1990's.
