After the usual round of Monkey Life there was the usual round of wildlife repeats, but I didn't watch anything else after them

I did manage a bit of tinkering with the GameplayKit stuff

And in February 1933, the Reichstag has burned, and Hindenburg has merrily signed the decrees suspending the constitution and handing absolute power to Hitler's government. The mass arrests have begun, with a few managing to make their escape from Germany at the last minute. One handy loophole was that as the Germans insisted Saarland was part of Germany, they didn't put much in the way of border security on the German side of it; but it was occupied by France under a League of Nations mandate, so it was a good way to get out even as stringent security was put in place at all other parts of the border

    Goodnight all

        Morning denizens

The fog has finally gone away but it remains pretty frosty out, though today will at least get a bit warmer: 0°C now but soaring to 4° later. The barometers have leapt further upwards to 1027/1035mB

Interestingly, all the cars now appear largely frost-free despite some frost lingering on the lawn. The drive also appears to be damp. Last night the weather app talked of snow flurries, though there was no evidence of these, but I wonder if there's been a small rain shower first thing?

          Morning.

          Sunday.

          Damply dry.

          Wanly sunny.

Not so cold at 10.2 deg in here, 7 deg in the kitchen & leanto, 6 deg in the saltinghouse.

1035 mBar, 30.56 in Hg, 776.313 Torr, 15 psi, (up from 1031 last night), 60% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 19th of December 2019 there were 9 posts by Brillo & one post by LM.

Last night's dream before waking involved some circuitry with some interface chip or other probably an 8255, and seemed to be in the lab. I think it also involved a long ago girlfriend at one point.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the wan sunshine. It felt rather warmer than recently and I could feel my fingers for quite a lot of the time.

          Lunch: brunch.

          Entertainment:

Freecell score: 100%, running average: 81%.

          Tea: beans on toast etc.

Entertainment: thing on bbc sounds on newspapers.

          Freecell score (W95): 93%, running average: 88%.

Book. Other book. Other other book.

          The storm of 1990.

            Morning all, Edinburgh calling

Bright and dry, some cloud. Damp underfoot due to thawing frost. Currently 2 degrees with a high of 4 expected. Barometer at 1034 mBar.

            Sunrise 08:37; Sunset 16:07

HWMBO and I are at the airport, awaiting our flight to Heathrow which has been delayed about an hour. Once we know we're actually leaving, I will book our coach tickets that will take us from Heathrow down to Gatwick.

The dogs from the block across the lawn just came out with their female chauffeur and have gone for a ride in one of their cars

And there's a van from the Guide Dogs charity parked outside the adjacent block. So maybe one of my neighbours will be getting one, which would be exempt from the strict No Dogs provision in the lease (which I assume the two that live opposite dodged by moving here before the vote to resume enforcing it). Or it could just be somebody visiting who works there and gets the use of the van on weekends

you (or one of you) flew from GLA/LHR then LHR/EDI now EDI/LHR all to get a bus to LGA??*
                WTAF????

                there're easier routes.

Having had a couple of croissants with strawberry jam for breakfast, I only wanted a light lunch. So I had a Greggs chicken bake

It's not completely cloudy out now, though it mostly is. But there are bits of only lightly veiled blue here and there

Meanwhile, a bedding wash is on, being the duvet cover and such; yesterday it was the mundane laundry

                      So...

HWMBO and I had booked a week in the sun in Madeira last year sometime, which flies from Gatwick. He lives in Glasgow so would have always had to fly down at some point this weekend as we had also planned to stay overnight at Gatwick ahead of our early flight on Monday.

A group of people we know had arranged a meet up in Heathrow T5 ahead of a night out in Edinburgh, and that was this weekend. So HWMBO had to then head back up to Scotland with me for that on Saturday (his flight down on Friday having been booked before this event was decided).

The easiest way for us to then get from Heathrow to Gatwick today was by coach. If we hadn't done the social in Edinburgh then it would have been a train ride via the Lizzy Line and Thameslink from my place.

                      It all makes sense, honest!
