Rather boring U3A (old farts society) visit to historic place yesterday. I was the only bloke there as usual, think I need a sex change to fit in. Van in for service this morning.
Sunny start out, though with a few bands and strips of cloud here and there which will possibly join up to create greater cloudiness later, which will be accompanied by a strong breeze. The temperature is acceptable at 14°C heading for 20°, while the barometers are up a bit to 1002/1010mB
Morning all
The sky was gloomy on our walk, but the precipitation delayed until we were back inside.
Was only planning to cut about 1/4 acre of grass yesterday evening as a test, but it was going so well, I did the rest of the lawn too, and at a low setting. Discovered the mower has an alarm that warns you when the box is full (I hadn't got to that page in the manual yet, and so when it went off I had to go back and read up on it). Also, the "work lights" as they call them are possibly 0.000000001W each. I may have to upgrade them if I'm going to go out at 2am.
Drizzling with that very fine drizzle that's wetter than wet.
Grey.
Cool in here at 20.4 deg, 22 deg in the kitchen, 19.5 deg in the leanto.
1006 mBar, 29.707 in Hg, 754.56 Torr, 14.59 psi, (down from 1008.5 last night), 72% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 30th of October 2019 NF related the story of the chap in Bristol going to work on a unicycle, whereas I went as far as the viewless point on the morning constitutional where there were Other People, WTFH had an informal interview with a chap he'd worked with previously, and NF did the mundane laundry.
Lunch: baked spud etc.
Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about sommat until I read a book for a change.
The thing about asbestos in talc at 13:45.
More book.
Decided to clean the box room & move all the book cases about & clean underneath: from the state of the place it's a while since I did that. One unfortunate spider ran about the place & then dropped dead. Feck me there's a lot of stuff in there & still more to do tomorrow.
Sunny with lumps of fluff. Currently 19 degrees with a high of 21 expected. Cloudy cover set to increase with a small chance of a shower mid afternoon. Barometer up to 1013 mBar.
Caught up on 24 Hours in A&E and the C4 version of Surgeons yesterday. Not sure what I'll do today.
So the call was a complete waste of time and I got rejected for a job I didn't actually apply for.
The company invited me to give feedback on their recruitment process (they are still actively advertising for all their open roles) and so I did just that
I doubt anything will change but I feel better for giving them my tuppence worth.
Very grey out now, and there was some rain earlier. I'm in two minds whether to go shopping this evening or do it tomorrow. I'll probably leave it until tomorrow
Lunch was a chunky fish finger bap (wholemeal, red sauce)
Tonight's viewing was The Body Detectives on C4, in which they investigate cold cases of missing people and unidentified bodies. This one was about a chap who was lost to the sea during a trip to the seaside in 1984, and they ended up exhuming a body that had been swept up on the coast of France ten days later and buried in the local cemetery. They actually showed the exhumation, which isn't something I've seen on telly before - French gravediggers scooping up handfuls of bones and dumping them in a new coffin to be taken to the lab
