    Morning all

Clear sky, sunny. Chilly. Currently 6 degrees ('feels like' 4) with a high of 11 expected. No breeze to speak of. Barometer up sharply to 1025 mBar

Off to Sussex by the Channel to visit Mum today where I'll most likely have to cut the hedge and mow the lawns.

        Morning denizens

Sunny day with no cloud to speak of at the moment. Not so warm, though: 7°C, maybe getting up to 11° later in the afternoon. The barometers are up a good bit, at 1015/1023mB

Landmark event this morning: the heating came on of its own volition for the first time this autumn. I've activated it manually from time to time over the last few weeks, but this was the first time the hallway, where the thermostat is located, has cooled down enough overnight for it to start itself up first thing in the morning

The US border stuff today had reached the point of people wearing face masks, so pandemic era, which is very recent for those programmes. But the NZ cops restored the balance of the universe: one person mentioned that the warrant for them dated from 1997, "last year"

Later, a bit of the C5 thing about the Gloucestershire police dealing with the night time activities of the people of Cheltenham. And finally, an old 24 Hours in A&E

Monday again tomorrow, and it's the week I was hoping to be off, but I'm not. However, Wednesday is the all-hands off-site thing in London that I'm not going to, and unless something extremely urgent turns up, I should be able to take that day off, at any rate

                Goodnight all

Layers of thin, fairly high cloud out, with some sunlight glimmering through over towards the east or a bit south thereof. It seems to have been a chilly night: currently 3°C, but getting up to 11° this afternoon. The barometers are down slightly at 1011/1020mB

Cloudy but dry. Currently a chilly 3 degrees with a high of 12 expected. Cloud cover set to remain for the day with no rain forecast. Barometer down to 1022 mBar.

Productive day at Mum's yesterday. Took her to big Tesco, roughly mowed the very overgrown front lawn, trimmed a shrub that was trying to get into the kitchen window, fixed the doorbell by swapping the batteries.
