Forgot to mention that lunch was a bacon cob (homemade, not from the bakery)

              thanks for all the

Burst tumour which has bled into her abdomen. They could operate, which would have <20% chance of success and might buy her 3-4 weeks, during which she'd be in pain and drugged up.

She's currently calm, while we are in pieces, knowing we have to call the vet tomorrow to organise a date this week, as they say she won't make it into next week in any comfort, and there's an increasing risk of "catastrophic rupture" at any time.

The car tonight was a kit car AC Cobra replica which was no longer road legal because of its emissions. Under the reg it had when they bought it, it shows as last having an MOT around that time; they claimed to have made it legal and registered it, but there's no record for the reg it had when they sold it, so it's probably only been used as a track car.

And the gold hunters were all moaning about how far short of their season targets they were

Later, in the thing with the old opal hunter teaching the young one, they actually went looking for some opal, albeit with detours to herd camels and then to fly a generator to a remote sheep-farming station cut off in those once-every-200-year rains.

And now I'm going to go to bed and read some more of Ignition! before getting an early night

                      Goodnight all
