    Morning denizens

Walk briskly walked, green ring closed

This has led to much grumbling from various parts of my musculo-skeletal framework, coming on top of yesterday's exertions. I believe that's supposed to mean it's "doing you good"; we shall see

Warm sunny start, being 19°C already (about 17° when I went out for my walk around an hour ago) and predicted to reach 30° by late afternoon

Cooler with a chance of rain over the weekend, though the barometers aren't down much yet at 1011/1019mB.

I must remember to put the mundane laundry on later; might as well dry it while it's hot

      Morning all

Clear sky with a few token bits of fluff. Currently 21 degrees with a high of 32 later. Barometer steady at 1021 mBar.

Definitely warm out. I was sweeping the patio and sorting out the bench and tables for our lunchtime guests and had to come inside to cool down after a mere 10 minutes.

Now to do that work thing until they arrive.

          Morning.

          Dry.

          Sunny.

          Blue sky.

Warmsih side of coolish at 19.8 deg in here.

          Smalls in the WM.

Entertainment: "Today" has gone <click> every time Nick wotshisface comes on.

          DID is a no no.

          So it's silence until 09:45.

Smalls out of the WM and into the TD.

          Shirts in the WM.

Smalls out of the TD & airing upstairs.

Shirts out of the WM and drying on the line.

Cottons in the WM along with the bed sheets.

Shirts off the line & finishing in the TD.

No walk today, it's too darn hot.

For some odd reason I am unable to access the first page of the contractor awards thread Specifically In General. It returns to LuciferBox's post #11 quite relentlessly.

Shirts out of the TD & very roughly iRoned being rather too dry for this really.

Cottons out of the WM and drying on the line.

Lunch: scrambled egg and poached tomato on Morrisons sunflower and pumpkin seed toast, bramble jelly & marmalade sandwiches, red corner yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: bits of Archive Hour on R4. TWATO. Thing about J Edgar "Mary" Hoover. A thing about Ukraine which I didn't listen to.

Freecell score: 88%, running average 85%.

Cottons off the line & finished in the TD.

Tea towels & pillow cases iRoned.

Tea: battered cod, some peach slices, a yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

          Wheeler Dealers S15 E20 1965 Volvo Amazon 122.

Gosh. Something I've never seen before: resurfacing brake discs (or "rotors" as the septics term them).

Never seen anyone split a caliper either, most manuals tell you not to do that.

A better ep than many since Motor Mouth STFU for most of it.

War Factories: Opel: how GM (and Ford) built trucks for dear old Adoph & co.

Thing on PBS about the plot to overthrow the election.

Stone me, there's a lot of lunies about.

It's down to 21.8 deg in here, and 20.6 deg in the salting house, due to the lovely greyness that's been in the sky for much of the afternoon.

          Oh the relief.

For some other odd reason, the thing that fixes up thread URLs that have a number at the end isn't working. I fixed it in the database and cleared the server's cache, and it's working now: https://forums.contractoruk.com/gene...ds-2022-a.html

Lunch was an M&S pork pie, part of the hitherto unconsumed bounty of St. Pancras last night

And before that, I nipped down to Sainsbury's to do the shopping. All sorted, but gawd, it's hot out there

Tell me about it - wandered down to the v&a with Cojak (via Harrods and Harvey nicks in the hunt for some perfume) and Cojak had to escort me back to my hotel as I felt ill in the heat

                    Evening.

                    Too hot.

I need to do a bit more then I can finish for the week.

I have had to keep turning my fan off due to meetings and phone calls because it makes a racket.

Got up early because it was too hot to sleep.

Did some housework noting it went from 15 degrees at about 6am to 21 about 8am.

I have done a some washing and it dried very quickly.

I need to go out and water my garden before it all dies.

By dint of keeping the windows closed to stop hot air getting in, and the curtains closed until the sun had moved round to the end of the terrace, I've managed to keep the temperature down to a mere 27°C in here. Still too damn hot, but it's 31° outside now. Roll on sunset, when I can open the windows and try to get some cooler air through the place
