Ran a credit check on the agency I'm about to sign up with and notice that they (a) only incorporated Feb last year, (b) their beneficial owner (PSC) is holding company made up of a lot of companies set up around the same time, (c) one of the directors holds 69 directorships, mostly in companies set up in the past year or so. The contract states they are part of another company but that's different to the one listed as the PSC.


This is ringing alarm bells. Should I be worried?

I would be concerned at the very least. I had something similar when I was direct with a major solicitors back in 2015. All was fine until some newly hired jumped up manager came in and said all direct suppliers have to now engage with the solicitor via his mates agency - which had been in existence a whopping total of three months.

I walked. (But I was relocating away from that city anyway).
