In another life, long long ago and just outside, I nearly bought a rusty metallic green one of those, but the astounding vibration from something in the drive train put me off.

Nice car in its day though.

I had one two of those on my Granada 2.3/3.0 litre kit car. It really wasn't worth the money or the effort, but a good deal better than the Holley 4 barrel carb which was a complete & utter waste of time & money.

Apparently the power steering was always troublesome; they sent the steering pump (? something like that) off to a specialist company that rebuilt it incorporating a few additional upgrades/fixes of their own. And then, as the manual explicitly warned against having it on full lock for more than about thirty seconds as it could make said pump overheat, they also welded on a little extra bit to prevent it going to full lock. Seems like a lot of trouble to go to just so you can steer the damn thing

In other news, I bought a new office chair off Amazon this afternoon; it's due here on Friday. The one I've got, handed down from the parents, isn't really good enough for a full day's work, being minimally adjustable. In particular, the arm rests aren't adjustable at all and I think they're too high, leading to me getting a crick between my shoulders towards mid-afternoon every day, which then takes most of the evening to get itself right

Oddly, the same chair wasn't a problem last year. Maybe I'm just getting creakier, or maybe I need time to get used to it again. But I think I'm going to be better off just getting a proper adjustable office chair

You wouldn't say that if you'd ever driven the entirely mandraulic steering on the P4. .

Just remembered the time I got a P4 sideways at about 20 mph & ended up on the pavement.

Later viewing started with the Air Crash Investigation into Spanair Flight 5022 which took off from Madrid in 2008, but not very much and certainly not as much as it was supposed to

And then a recent full-length The Repair Shop featuring the dubious hearse lamps ladymuck called out. It did rather feel as if the owner was a bit more keen on having some nice antique lamps for her cottage and only marginally interested in the grandfather's heritage aspect

Lunch: baked potato with cheese & baked beans (forgot to add the chilli which made it bland), a red corner yog, another yog, bramble jelly & marmalade sandwiches, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment (if as such it might be defined): TWAO, more doom & gloom.
