Didn't bother with any telly today (apart from Monkey Life of course)
But I did spend some time refreshing the Unbound page for Tom Cox's new book, Villager, as pledging closes at midnight and it was touch and go whether he'd match the 1,577 pledges he got for 21st Century Yokel. He did, and more

Telex machine gleaming well this morning.
Walk (slightly abbreviated) walked in the endless drizzle.
Lunch: poached tomato and scrambled egg on Morrisons wholemeal sunflower and spelt toast, bramble jelly sandwich x2 on same, a red pippy corner yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.
Entertainment: Oz Customs thing: usual Chinese food fines, Brazilians refused entry, Vietnamese chap taken to the cleaners without finding anything of note.
NZ Border Patrol: watched both before: the Nigerian chap who made himself so obnoxious that he spent the night in the cells before being put back on the plane & the somewhat, er, camp English chap ditto.
Freecell score in the afternoon drizzle: don't ask.
House half heartedly vacced simply for something to do.
Tea: more of thechicken, some stewed apple & stewed plums & custard, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.
Entertainment: Discovering Rita Hayworth.
Quantum Leap S2 E?
Joy of Painting:very close.
Curse of Oak Island nutjobbery S8 E9 "Rock Paper Serpents": same old same old at a guess.
Gary's found some coal and some blue glazed pottery. The excitement is palpable.
In further excitement Gary finds a 1919 George V penny, and which they think is a plumbob.

Morning all
Dull, damp, grey. Currently 8 degrees ('feels like' 6) with a high of 12 later. Light showers off and on all day.
Tired today, due to a late night last night, but managed to get through the first couple of meetings.
Today's fact, not from the Kantar diary, is:

Morning denizens
Sunny start here
Chilly though, being 7°C at the moment and maybe reaching 11° later, clouding over in the afternoon but no rain expected. Barometers are up but only reluctantly, at 1015/1023mB. Looking ahead, the next few days should be a little warmer thoughComment
