Walk briskly walked, green ring closed

I often don't bother on a Saturday or, if I do, I roll it into the trip to the Chinese. But tonight, I've decided I'm not going to the Chinese

Lunch was already very filling, though maybe it's been helped by the crisps and chocolate biscuits I've also had. And due to the Sainsbury's chicken thighs being a load of small ones rather than the usual larger ones, my portioning is messed up and I'm left with a one-third portion that's not worth freezing, so I'll have that and some soup instead

And I've just remembered that I treated myself to a Patisserie Valerie strawberry tart which is in the fridge and also Needs To Be Eaten™ today

Something very odd is going on. Last weekend NF was up before noon and now this weekend he's foregoing the Chinese.

Called to check with the parentals that my planned visit to them tomorrow is still ok. Turns out my Mum nearly double-booked but luckily my Dad was on hand to remind her that it's a bit rude to arrange to go out when I'd arranged to visit.

Have been watching Paddington 24/7 on C5 catch up after watching the most recent Fake or Fortune, where a £50 painting bought off eBay turned out to be.. a genuine article!

Yesterday was the Basel Jazz Festival. About 1/6 of the usual size. But better than last year. All free. If you wanted to go into the courtyards, you need to get a paper bracelet tag thing after showing your vaccine certificate and id. NHS certificate isn't recognised. But the police office just asked if she was staying with us, and when I confirm, he gave her a tag. Which was nice.

Today, sprained ankle walking to the car to drive to the swimming pool. Sister-in-law is sitting right next to me, twitching her foot. I find it very irritating but can't do anything about it.

Ankle is sore, but it bears my weight.

Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

I was up before noon today as well

Tea, as foretold, was zingy chicken, tomato and lentil soup with some multiseed bread, and the leftover chicken casserole

Mustn't forget my strawberry tart in a bit

Well Miss V2 went clubbing last night so Mrs V decided to collect her. (I was tuckered out its been a week of interviews..) 2:30am this morning the phone went.

Mrs V was back after 3 am, we woke up at 11am I thought I was NickF without the braincells.

Watched "the Baker" an excellent comedy with him off homeland.

Dawn of the dead Argento cut, still an excellent movie, far better than the reboot despite the porn in the shop in 2.0.

Bone Tomahawk, properly grisly - I like my westerns without cannibals. Not bad though considering.

Exciting day spring cleaning the kitchen & Garage - a bit late I know.

Made Kedgerie which was consumed for breakfast/brunch.

Then steak & widney when I collected miss v2 from the chippy.

Mrs V is out with the girls at a restaurant.

A quiet night tonight, for I rewatched A Quiet Place (2018) and then the major motion picture premiere of A Quiet Place Part II (2020), which is very good in the same kind of way as the first one; I strongly suspect it'll become a trilogy. But I've been waiting for this second one since it started appearing on the sides of the double-decker buses just before the pandemic happened and closed all the cinemas for a year, which made them delay its release, so it was good to finally get to see it

And with them two out of the way, I dithered over what to watch until Ocean's Eight (2018) caught my eye. I remember not being very impressed the first time I watched it, but sometimes I'm just not in the right mood for a film, and Talen Lee (who I linked to last weekend for their views on the first version of Justice League) speaks highly of it. So I watched it again, and really enjoyed it; cracking film this time, so I must have recovered the right mood

                    Goodnight all

                      Oh jolly good.

I was getting up before NF was going to bed.

                      Sunday.

Sunday shop at Tesco & Morrisons done, dusted, washed, dried, sanitised, & put away.

I got to Tesco so early that I had to wait for 5 minutes for the tills to open.

                      Blasted insomnia.

Oh, and the buzz from the exhaust is now a roar, so it's gungum time again.

Probably need a baked bean can too from the noise it's making.

Lunch: roast chicken breast with some sort of bacon, not as good as last week since no sausages were involved, a yellow corner yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

                      So there.

And that garden thing yng Nghymraeg, all about St Fagans house & museum gardens this week.

Feck me, I must be desperate or something.

The other place he went down into was

which, by some coincidence, my late friend Les Jones had worked inside back in the 60s.

                      It looks a bit damp.

Curiously I was utterly knackered after the walk, but am feeling a bit better now, though the knees are complaining when I go upstairs.

Tea: Heinz potato & leek soup with Morrisons wholemeal sunflower and spelt bread and the last of the sunflower and pumpkin seed bread, bramble jelly sandwich x 2 on same, a yog, some mango slices, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

                      Entertainment:
