Left the TV on after lunch, chuntering away with those Australian customs & immigration shows. They've just stopped a bloke arriving from the Sudan with a large suitcase entirely filled with fireworks and cigarette lighters

Twiglets are horrible.

Marmite and peanut butter is an abomination like coffee and chocolate, orange and chocolate or French toast.

I cracked and phoned the doctor. Got a same day call back (which I've just had). Booked in for a follow up call on Thursday to see how I'm getting on with the over the counter meds she recommended and blood tests on Friday.

Doctor said, "we haven't seen you for years, this must definitely be something you're worried about"

Last had blood tests about four or five years ago so she's booking a full battery of tests as a new baseline.

I once had my GP say of some test result, in a rather exasperated tone, "The trouble is, you hadn't been to the doctor for so many years that it's impossible to tell if this is normal for you or if it's something we need to look at more closely"

I had similar when I last changed opticians. On having a good look at the back of my eye the optician insisted on extra tests because I have (relatively, I guess) a large optic nerve opening.

All the better to see you with! (except not as it actually increases the size of one's blind spot and is a glaucoma indicator)
