Roast lamb shoulder, very nice, followed by 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Time, I think, for a walk in the sunshine.

Cocktail sausages and a bag of crisps for lunch

Clear blue sky out (well, the bit of it I can see from my armchair)

        Walk walked.

It's a lovely afternoon out there, all Simpsonsesque but not too warm.

Once I've had my shower, it'll be almost time for tea.

<walk recovery and ebay browsing hiatus>

        Now for the shower.

        <showering and hair washing hiatus>

Tea: Ginsters Moroccan vegan pasty (I really do like these), red corner yog, stewed pears and custard, two bramble jelly on Morrisons wholemeal sunflower and spelt bread, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: Oak Island nutjobs later, before that, TBD.

          It was pleasant outside.

          Dreading tomorrow afternoon.

Stripped the bed and left it to air for a bit. Must remember to put the clean bedding on before it gets late

No IKEA trip today. Just stuff into storage, and stuff out of storage. Some went to the dump straight away, some taken home for sorting out.

Sun has come out, it's about 20 degrees but still a bit windy every now and then.

Dinner was lamb leg steak, chips and peas, with mint from the garden.
oh, and a nice Merlot, for variety.
                ents: F1 banger racing highlights

                don't know what after.

maybe just sharpen the axe, for tomorrow

Once again some magnet fishers have pulled an old grenade out of the river up the road, which seems to happen every couple of weeks at the moment, but this time the police have arrested them for causing a public nuisance

TBD: "Alien (1979)" with that Sigourney Weaver chapesse, the War Doctor chap, and Ian Holm.

Stone me they all look very young.

The commentary is on the theatrical release rather than the Director's Cut (2003) which I just watched.

Now: The Oak Island nutjobs are taking core samples from the swamp using the drilling rig mounted on the barge.

It's not going very well so far.

Now we're off to Smith's Cove.

                      Now with ground penetrating radar.

Now Rick & Gary are metal detecting again.

And Gary finds a "thing". Time will tell if it's a bobby dazzler.

                      It's a quarry hammer.

And lo! Gary finds another quarry hammer, a bigger one.

Turns out they're swages for sharpening rock drills not hammers.

Now they think the the clay under the swamp keeps things dry enough that there could be a tunnel under there.

                      Next: "Plague Fiction" on BBC4.
