    It's a tuliphole.

With the prospects of getting even worse now the M4 diversion route is cancelled.

The surprise is that it's a bigger tuliphole than Neath which is much more pleasant to walk around even though it's a tuliphole.

I didn't much like Newport at all.

Seems to have changed a bit since the glory days of 1979 when I was there last.

And the closer you get to the Passport office the worse it gets.

The contrast with Cardiff yesterday was quite striking.

You can see where all the money has gone.

    <tea/dinner making type hiatus>

Tea/dinner this evening was, unusually, that beef carrot & onion thing I make, since I've had fish on Sunday & Monday this week and am somewhat fished out as a consequence.

        Indeed.

I may have lentil <pfffffft> soup tomorrow instead of Thursday.

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;. Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.

Actually, now I think about it, that sounds like a plan.

In other news, now it doesn't matter the sun's out.

All this talk of passports is a worrying trend too.

          chilli con carne for dinner.

          sinuses well cleared <for now>.

hopefully it'll put the frighteners on this damned lurgy.

You learn something every day... Just watching trashy TV (London Live) and discovered that Barnes Wallis used to live on Beech Avenue, Effingham, which is a regular backroad for me when the M25 is busy.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

Yes, and with a great road from the Mucky Duck to get there, and an even better one over Ranmore to head for home.
...particularly if they are empty and you have a Toy.

Same happened here. I'd put the light on so I could see my book, then ended up turning it off again as there was copious light coming through the window

Forgot to put the oven on, so dinner is running later than usual
