In the news today
Pope Francis repeatedly flinches as people try to kiss his ring | The Independent
Sounds a bit rude!bloggoth

This evening's feast was, unusually, M&S battered haddock.
It was very nice.
And, for reasons I can't remember, I had fried mushrooms as well.
The evening's entertainment, such as it is, is Kenneth Branagh's "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994)" with Ken Branagh & a host of lovies the like of which one rarely sees.
Frankenstein (1994) - IMDb
I'm watching this as I type so you can figure out exactly how gripping it isn't.
I suspect that Francis Ford Coppola was pretty correct in his assessment.
Oh.
After a mere 44 minutes it's just introduced The Creature.
It's Alive!
Apparently.
One suspects that William Henry Pratt wouldn't have been overly impressed.
Oh Dear(tm).
Our Ken is emoting at us.
Oh good, it's livening up a bit now.
But not by much. .
Get on with it FFS.
Far too many lovies it must be said.
The William Henry Pratt version was a lot more engaging.
And fecking sight faster.
Thank feck, Bob De Niro has finally started doing his thing.
Oh good.

And the Flying Dutchman sails on.
Dear Deity that was poor.
I hope it didn't cost more than 33p.
This one sounds more fun:
I, Frankenstein (2014) - IMDb
I suspect William Henry Pratt might have thought so too.
I'll comment further as and when I watch it.

For tonight's tea: gammon steak, fried eggs, chips, and beans
I didn't have any pineapple in stock
Still, it was exceedingly nice without.Comment

Not much TV tonight (apart from more of that A1 thing on iPlayer whilst eating); just ST:TNG S03E08, The Price, being one of those ones with Troi getting it on with some fella, which is always a bit tedious

Sunny.
Bright.
Frosty.
Coldish.
Dry.
Hazy.
Wednesday.
I'm off to a funeral at about 10:15, just to add to the joy of it all.
Another addition to the joy of it all was discovering I'd lost an electric drill (battery, 18V) some time over the last month to 6 weeks.
Ho very hum.
I'd only had it for about 10 years.
I think it got left out when I was firkling about with the rainwater downpipe some weeks ago, and try as I might, I can't make it magically reappear. When the fun stops, STOP.Comment
