Mengele, in the 1960s, had secluded several surrogate mothers in a Brazilian clinic and implanted them with zygotes each carrying a sample of Adolf Hitler's DNA preserved since World War II. Ninety-four clones of Hitler had then been born and sent to different parts of the world for adoption. In the hopes that one or more of the boys will turn out like the original Hitler, Mengele has arranged for all of them to be placed with foster parents similar to Hitler's own, and is assassinating their foster fathers at the same age at which Hitler's own died
Book written in 1976.
Hans Spemann, a Germanembryologist was awarded a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1935 for his discovery of the effect now known as embryonic induction, exercised by various parts of the embryo, that directs the development of groups of cells into particular tissues and organs. In 1928 he and his student, Hilde Mangold, were the first to perform somatic-cell nuclear transfer using amphibian embryos – one of the first steps towards cloning.[22]
I was actually thinking the other day we saw how advanced the Germans were with rockets, jets etc. (which is why so many Germans got shiny new passports after the war).
Why if you had unlimited budget, no moral restrictions and a total obsessed nutter in charge why would you not be able to get there sooner? Especially if you just create a child with similar DNA not identical DNA.
Its still an exceptional film.
