Just sorted out contents insurance for the flat. I meant to do it when I moved here fourteen years ago, but hadn't got around to itComment

Very light and brief shower!
I think most of it probably evaporated the moment it hit the ground, but there's a strong aroma of rather mouldy petrichor coming through the kitchen windowComment

It was rattling away on the plastic leantoo roof, but no sign of anything when I looked outside.
The new building looks impressive.
It's like a frigging maze inside, and the atrium doesn't help much.
Since the footprint isn't rectangular it's quite confusing.
And it's nowhere near ready so what the rush to get stuff down there is about is beyond me.
There was a cold wind blowing in off the sea.
On a day like this.
Which bodes well for November to May next year.
Tea was a little more of yesterday's beef, followed by some stewed red gooseberries.
I found those last during a quick ferret about in the freezer, along with a carton of icecream, BBE Sept 2013.
They were both very nice with some custard.
It's a long time since I had icecream and this tub is now a lot lighter than it was.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 16 July 2018, 18:31.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

Currently watching a thing on PBS about Alfred Loomis of Tuxedo Park.
I think he's about to invent centimetric radar for us.
Or he will once Randall & Boot invent the cavity magnetron for him.

Aha!
He was in at the start of the Radiation Laboratory at MIT.
It would appear that his most important contribution was inventing the good old Military Industrial Complex.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 16 July 2018, 21:11.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

Tonight's film was Thief (1981), which is more of a bleak drama than anything, despite involving diamond heists, gunfights, and explosions. Worth a watch, but don't expect any good guys to root for.
Goodnight allComment

As I'm off to the dentist at 09:00, I had the opportunity not to get up at 06:15.
So I did.
Following said dental joy, it's back to the chaos that I left yesterday. When the fun stops, STOP.Comment
