      Morning all

Misty & damp dog walk this morning, but at least the dog isn't hobbling as much as she was.

In other news, the Wife (tm) went into Waitrose yesterday morning to get a birthday cake for one of her colleagues along with a card. At the checkout the guy asked her who the cake was for, she told them, so the guy at the checkout said "OK, wish your colleague a happy birthday from Waitrose and have the cake on us" (it was a £7 cake).
Now that is good customer service!
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

        Good moaning dissidents.

Going to a farewell lunch for HAL's office closing in Farnborough today. Just another "Day in the Life" for Rometty and her misfortunes...

            Morning denizens

Very grey day out there today. It's like the greyness has seeped into everything else. Even the orange and maroon of the Sainsbury's Local sign have a grey cast to them, as if somebody had turned the "colour" knob too far to the left on a 1970s telly

And now, rain. Lots of rain. Rain.

and the company is one letter forward from HAL.

Its busy going through an HP stylee streamlining slash & burn, however they seem to be a bit quieter about it in the press.

Seriously, it was full of plot devices that made no sense other than as a way to provide a bit of suspense - not trivial things, but major story points that were completely divorced from any sense of reality.
                  ...
Oh, and a key plot point was then the fact that the specific platform they were on had been used as an air raid shelter in WWII and had a surviving blast-proof door, but of course that war was many years before the Jubilee Line was built.
you & Scroaty must get together
