Suppose to be heading up to Scotland tomorrow for the Etape Caledonia on Sunday. Got out of bed this morning and my left knee is stiff as a board and swelled up like a tennis ball.
Going to try and stay off it today and use an ice pack in the hopes that it goes down

It's a year ago almost to the day that the same thing happened to me, though I was heading to London for the Boring Conference. My knee was sufficiently well recovered to travel the next day.
I don't know if speedy recovery is a common trait of knees, but hopefully yours recovers just as quickly. You can pick up collapsible walking sticks at Boots quite cheaply if that's any help
(I later concluded that mine was a last gasp of the gout - I think it was just after then that I got the doctor to increase my allopurinol prescription.)
Ascension day so my euro colleagues are all off. The sun is shining and there was some of last night's pizza in the fridge this morning. So I'm buying a lotto ticket.
