Spent Sunday starting to clean every room in the house. Suspect we'll be cleaning for the next few months as the dust settles.

Put it another way, I've had Henry vacuuming the ceilings of rooms.
Speaking from experience, having cavity wall insulation installed is equally unpleasant. And the dust is older.

    What's wrong with masonry paint?

Stone walls, no foundations, no damp course.

Masonry paint seals the dampness into the stone, which then comes out at the weakest points in the paint as black mould.

Solution: take the (several layers of) paint off, let the walls breathe. If we decide to repaint, it will be with breathable paint.

It has also revealed some amazing stonework from the early 1800s, a coin imbedded in an oak beam (probably from when the house was built), some very nice brickwork and woodwork.
Might even post a before/after photo on here.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

I did a fireplace a few years ago. Takes about a month to settle out. Fortunately, I was working away so only needed to sleep in the place 2 days a week.

The ZeitBigClock(tm) mods are proceeding apace.

Wouldn't be needed if I'd engaged brain during the design phase.
