Pan of water on the stove does the trick. Don't spill it.

            Afternoon all

That's the lamb roasted and consumed.

I cooked about twice as much crinkly cabbage as I needed.

Still ate it all though, so it'll be <pffft> for the rest of the day.

                Afternoon denizens

Grey and windy out, but pretty warm for a change

Somewhere out the back, a local gate is banging in the wind roughly every forty-five seconds. It sounds like the one next door. The guy who lives there who usually comes out and jams it into one position with a small pile of bricks or other stuff must be away, or having a lie-in

Better pop out and make sure they didn't run over my cars

Though according to another tweet, from the Roads Policing Team:
Just assisting @WestcotesCops & @LeicsRAPT with a detained male. He ran from officers & whilst doing so has stood on a nail! #dontrunfromus

And a few hours later, Matt557 and another local cop rescued somebody from a burning first floor flat on Ashleigh Road! Pretty good really, our neighbourhood police

Turns out it was the doctor's recently-installed back gate that was banging, so I went and closed it properly.

Now the neighbours will think the wind has dropped because the noise has stopped, but it's actually just as strong

Just bought one for dinner. T'was all our Tesco Express could turn up, otherwise I would have eaten a different animal, out of respect, like.
