My dad & I liked liver, ZeitMater & ZeitSis not so much.

We never had lamb kidneys or heart, both of which I rather enjoy.

Not keen on pig's liver for some reason.

Never tried cow liver.

But fava beans & a nice chianti make everything taste good.

We ate a lot of offal and odd cuts of meat growing up. think it was a hangover from when my Granddad was a butcher. My mother was a dab hand at cooking things to death. Never really liked any of it, until someone showed me that you could cook things rare etc... and it actually tasted nice.

Keep meaning to get hold of some lambs heart and do a pot roasted stuffed one.

Love lambs hearts but they take too long to cook for me to tolerate in the week & I CBA on the weekend, when the odd ready meal comes in handy.

I like both liver and heart - delicacies in my view. Tripe too. Mrs Covbob can't stand them (apart from heart). We started eating heart when we were impoverished students and our local Tesco sold it very cheaply.

We find heart goes well in the slow cooker. Any other suggestions for what to do with it?

I'm going to do a stuffed heart recipe on t'blog sooner or later, or faggots with liver, and heart.

Just need to find a cloggy butcher that actually has some in stock. Offal is impossible to get hold of over here.
