Gave the vac a try on some actual cleaning, getting dust and cobwebs and the occasional stray mouse dropping out of the corner formerly behind the telly. After it had been running for a few minutes, there was definitely an "overheating motor" component to the slight burning smell, so maybe I'll let it rest until I can sort out a new belt and things

That's a later model, but most of the workings appear to be the same. I'll have to spend some time disassembling it a bit more throughly, I think. Also, I'm pretty sure I have some spare filters packed away somewhere, so with a bit of luck they'll turn up during this spring cleaning malarkey.

          **** me.

Now we're trying to fit 0.1" pitch devices onto 0.156" pitch veroboard.

          I give up.

How long since you had it serviced? I think I'll put my watch in for a service this year. It's 4 years since I got it.
