                Talking of floppy disks, as someone was earlier, anyone else remember using singlesided 5 1/4" disks and punching a hole in the cover to make them double sided?

                I had quite a collection of the things in the dim and distant past, housing my collection of knocked off games for the BBC micro

                  Double sided in a single sided drive.

                  Now I understand.

                  An extra index hole in the jacket.

                  Reminds me of the 8" floppy, where the double sided version had the index hole in a different place & required a different drive to read & write to it.

                  Or a dual format drive.
