Just return from 'fixing' neighbours PC.
Symptom given was 'not detecting external hard drive'.
I was immediately concerned by the amount of weird process names running in task manager. Check anti-virus program. Last updated 9 months ago. Last scan 9 months ago.
Updated and kicked off a scan.
Within first 20 mins found 10 viruses and was only 10% of the way through.
"Dunno where they've come from" he says.
I point out that they are all in his Limewire downloads folder!!!
