OK - we put the question on another forum and here is the solution
Hydrogen peroxide.
Any blood stain, whether new or old will come out with it. Works like magic. She should do it right before she leaves the office for the night, tamp it down to absorb the blood and then it'll dry overnight.
I plucked up the courage to go and talk to this girl I've liked for ages who works on our floor. However, as soon as she saw me, the colour drained from her face and she looking horrified. Try as I might to engage her in conversation she wouldn't say a thing and hasn't moved from her chair since. It's been four hours now.
What am I doing wrong? Maybe I'll try again next month...
