I've got a pop-up which keeps opening in IE, which says it's a bill for £39.99 for a subscription to MySexWorld. I haven't subscribed to whatever that is, honest m'lud.

It's got a customer services number, but I don't want to be charged £10 per minute probably, so I haven't rung it.

Question is, how do I get rid of it? I don't really want the kids or my missus seeing it, they might think it's genuine.

I rather suspect your browser has been hijacked to open a particular page, which opens the popup and then uses a bit of script to open the page you actually wanted. Forget the details but there is something on the net which should fix it, search for "browser hijack" or similar.

There is software to remove the popups, but removal may be illegal, since the installation asks you a number of times if you are sure that you want to install it.

That's very interesting. I can't imagine that anyone who uses this computer has agreed to MBS's terms and conditions. And I can't get rid of it, even with the help of a friend who knows about these things. It keeps coming back.

My friend suggested getting a root kit hunter. Can anyone recommend one?

EDIT: FOR SOME REASON THIS HAS GONE INTO LIGHT RELIEF. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY? IT'S NOT AMUSING TO ME.
