If it doesn't work I guess you can just drop him a mail, and I think he still accepts people. He submitted my appeal and replied to my (many) questions. No conditional corporation tax yet, but mine is due in February.

Going back to CK, I can see the benefit of a group action, but still, I am not sure it's a good idea to have them in charge of coordinating it. Not to mention the request of raising all funds right now instead going step by step. Also, I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to have CK hold a webinar a Q&A instead of just reading the updates?

Those who have previously signed up with David Kirk, is it proving to be worth it? I've registered at the link above but not clear specifically what DK would provide to an individual Ltd company, aside from being a good contact for any questions & advice
I think other than the tax refund requests there wont be much action until tribunal. I imagine you can only request X years back though and who knows how long this will drag out, so you need to get those requests in so you arent paying double tax.Comment

Has anyone had any success with asking their MP to flag this case to the Treasury Select Committee and the Public Accounts Committee? In the case of the TSC, they state they do not look at individual cases or specific complaints so I believe this requires an MP to flag the case to them or preferably one who sits on the committee.Comment

Just a personal update I wanted to share with the group. Since we had the request for 10% (mine is at 9k) I haven't been doing too well this weekend, this situation has been on my mind all weekend. It was also my little one's birthday and it has been exhausting wearing a fake smile. I have no idea how to cope with the case dragging on, I know that H's style is to drag their feet and they have been very successful in getting me to consider making a payment on account.
My anxiety is not helped by the current situation with interest rates on the rise and the cost of living, it's the perfect storm.
I know this post doesn't offer any useful information but just sharing this on the thread does help.

In a class action I knew about a few years ago, the firm of advisors asked for 1% of the potential tax liability, which was reasonable. 10% is ridiculous.Scoots still says that Apr 2020 didn't mark the start of a new stock bull market.Comment

after that everyone will know the actual points that need to be argued over at which point it should be easily possible to get money from other people who would be impacted. After all workwell really wouldn’t like it to become case law that an accountancy firm issuing an invoice on your behalf makes them as MSC (looking at their £200+ a month package).merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment

He claimed there was a lot of work done prior to tribunal and while the tribunal may only run to £250k the prep and the work before hand to get the best barristers and lawyers ready was the real cost. I have no idea if he's right or not but all of us know just how much lawyers charge and a case like this is going to cost a huge amount.
From someone who has been through this kind of debt chasing (EBT scheme and the subsequent loan recall), I can relate to your pain, there are ways through it to resolve the outcome should we lose, long TTPs which won't hurt you and your family (your MP will be able to help with this).
Try to stay strong it's a horrible time, keep at the back of your mind though (hopefully) you will get back the CT, Dividend Tax and your own NIC as you have already paid those.
Try to get your conditional claims in in time, HMRC initially said they weren't accepting conditional claims, then they changed their mind and apparently now they are back to not accepting, this is where the best use of David Kirk and the like will come in as they can talk and negotiate with HMRC about those things.
