So, how are you spending your bench time?

I'm on the bench tomorrow, for the first time ever. Hopefully for not very long, as I'm waiting for an offer from a consultancy firm, but it'll be a few days at least. It's all very alien to me, to say the least.

Anyway, to fill my time I'm going to be repairing a scooter, giving my motorbike a service and fixing the exhaust on my car. Then I'm going to finally get around to converting a very old VBS script into a nice C# compiled executable and, if I have time, start watching some vids from CBT Nuggets.

So, what about you? How do you guys spend your bench time?

Last time I was benched I visited Pompeii and got meself a microsoft cert.

Training and certification.
Replaced all four discs and pads on the car.
Went on a 10 day tour of Vietnam.
Cleaned the conservatory roof.

Now I'm ready to get back to work. Just need the market to feel the same.

To start with at least. The rest of the time depends on how long I have to wait for a new contract.
I love bench time at this time of year. The weather is getting nice and you can search Jobserve and answer agent calls whilst sat in the sunshine in the garden.

I tend to sit on my arse, catch up on a few games I've bought and never played, catch up on shows I've recorded and not watched, generally goof off and enjoy my break before the next bit of work trots along.
