If this yes vote gets passed does that mean it is definitely happening or that they are definitely going to try to make it happen but might change their minds if it is too much hassle?

I always thought it meant it was definitely going to happen but there does not seem to be enough certainty on some important areas for this to be viable.

Perhaps because the Scottish are intelligent and can see through the scare tactics (which they have proven to be), Scotland would get to use sterling and join the EU, there is no doubt about that.

There is no doubt? Not up to them really is it?

          Or what could happen...

Scotland behaves like a small county with reduced public services, tackles the blight that is poverty. Acts on behalf of the people rather than a front for big business. And becomes the 14th richest nation.

Or we remain together and reduce our chances to be a great nation if we pretend to be a great power.

would love to see your prove that they are merely scare tactics. Do you really think rUK will give you anything once you've voted Yes.... The next election will be in May 2015 and any party giving Scotland anything (assuming a yes vote) will do incredibly badly in the polls....

Reduced public services in a country that has major parts of its population dependent on the social with an NHS even more generous than the rest of the UK's

That's the thing with Lord Haw Haw's posts - invariably not too far in, a total lack of logic manifests itself.

I understood this vote isn't even legally binding, though the government have promised they will honour the result. But presumably the process could fall apart, or be delayed if it's clear all the (stupid pointless and expensive) work required is going to take longer than planned. Two years does sound kind of optimistic to pick apart 300 years of integration.

The next question is assuming a yes vote, should the scots be allowed to vote in the 2015 election?
